London Jazz Festival Debut

A full-house at the Spice of Life saw the London City Big Band make their London Jazz Festival debut. A one-off afternoon of contemporary big band music saw the band perform charts composed and arranged by the late Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider, Stan Sulzmann, Mick Foster and Thad Jones, as well as original arrangements from trumpet player Miguel Gorodi and bandleader Barney Lowe. It was a great pleasue to have trumpet player and Head of Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Nick Smart, feature as guest solist for the afternoon.
